Embodiments of the present invention provide a data communication method and an apparatus. In the solutions, frame length and uplink sub-frame to downlink sub-frame proportion of a wireless frame alternate with different timing length of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) rather than being fixed. Since different requirements of HARQ timing correspond to different requirements of retransmission timing, utilized wireless frames alternate with different timing length of HARQ during the data communication processing proposed by the solution, so as to satisfy the requirements of retransmission timing.
