Disclosed is a 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4G communication system, such as LTE. Provided by one embodiment of the present disclosure is a method by which a main base station changes auxiliary base stations communicating with a terminal in a wireless communication system supporting the main base station and at least two auxiliary base stations, the method comprising the steps of: receiving, from the terminal, a measurement report for the auxiliary base stations around the terminal; determining whether a predetermined auxiliary base station change condition is satisfied, on the basis of the measurement report; and transmitting, to the terminal and a first auxiliary base station communicating with the terminal or a second auxiliary base station not communicating with the terminal, an auxiliary base station change message instructing a change of the auxiliary base station for the communication with the terminal from the first auxiliary base station to the second auxiliary base station when the auxiliary base station change condition is satisfied.
