Disclosed are an image generation method and device, relating to the technical field of image processing. The method comprises: receiving a screenshot instruction; generating an image layer corresponding to the screenshot instruction, storing the image content of a screen area selected by a user in a storage area corresponding to the generated image layer, and displaying, on the generated image layer, the image content of the screen area selected by the user, wherein the storage area corresponding to the generated image layer is independent of a storage area corresponding to the image layer, in an unclosed state, generated according to the previously received screenshot instruction; and, after receiving an image generation instruction for at least one image layer currently in an unclosed state, generating, according to an image layer corresponding to an identifier of the image layer comprised in the image generation instruction, an output image corresponding to the image generation instruction, wherein the image generation instruction comprises: an identifier of the image layer selected by the user. By applying the solution provided in the embodiments of the present application, the steps of capturing an image many times can be simplified. |
