Provided are a screen brightness adjustment method and a user terminal. The method comprises: obtaining a first touch point and first touch strength and a second touch point and second strength on a screen (S101); determining whether said first touch strength matches said second touch strength (S102); if not, then determining the rate of change of the strength of said second touch strength with respect to said first touch strength (S103); determining a target brightness value corresponding to said rate of change of strength (S104); adjusting the brightness of said screen to said target brightness value (S105). The screen brightness display performance of the user terminal is improved.
