This light emitting device is provided with: a light emitting unit; a structure having light reflecting properties or light scattering properties; and a wavelength converting unit disposed in a region partitioned by the structure. The wavelength converting unit contains: a photosensitive resin containing an acid-generating substance that generates an acid when irradiated with light; and wavelength converting material that absorbs light emitted from the light emitting unit and converts the light into light in a different wavelength band.
