A method and an apparatus for multiplexing a telephone line and a network cable. The method comprises: combining and inputting an Ethernet signal and a speech signal at the first end of a network cable; transmitting a combined signal to the second end of the network cable; and separating the Ethernet signal and the speech signal at the second end of the network cable.
