A braking system (1a) for a rail vehicle (2) comprises a target value generator (20) for the target value (FBr,soll) of the overall braking power, a controller (7) for determining at least one manipulated variable value (7a) on the basis of said target value (FBr,soll) and at least one actuator (8) which transmits the manipulated variable value (7a) to the at least one braking device (2d, 2e). The system further comprises means (3, 3a, 3b, 4) for at least approximately determining acceleration components (ä) of the rail vehicle (2) and means (1, 5) for determining the actual value (FBr,est) of the total braking power from said acceleration components (ä) while taking the vehicle speed (v) and the vehicle mass (m, mest) into consideration. The controller (7) is designed to control the manipulated variable value (7a) such as to reduce the control deviation between the target value (FBr,soll) and the determined actual value (FBr,est). A device (1) for determining the actual value (FBr,est) of the braking power acting upon a rail vehicle (2) comprises means (3) for detecting acceleration components (ä), in particular of the longitudinal vehicle deceleration, and additionally means (4) for detecting the inclined plane force acting upon the vehicle. It also comprises an analysis unit (5) for determining the braking power (FBr,est) on the basis of the longitudinal vehicle deceleration and the inclined plane force. |
