UNIQUE PROTECTION OF RECORDED CONTENT

Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate a unique protection of recorded content. A central device may be configured to establish and maintain associations between unique passwords and one or more individual recordings. A user may provide a unique password to be associated with one or more individual recordings. When a recording is associated with a unique password, the central device may require entry of the unique password before carrying out an action such as playback or deletion of the recording.

when a user designates a piece of content for recording at a central device, establishing an association between a password and the recording, wherein the recording is designated by the user for association with the password; receiving a request for an action to be carried out on the recording; prompting a user for input of the password associated with the recording; receiving a user-input password; comparing the user-input password with the password associated with the recording; and if the user-input password matches the password associated with the recording, carrying out the requested action on the recording.
