[Class 64 (ii).] Heat-insulation comprises a hermetically sealed element divided into layers by parallel plates l of aluminium foil and outer walls of thicker sheets m, and containing a gas having a lower heat conductivity than that of air. The spaces between the foils communicate by holes r and gas is blown through openings n in the edges which are then sealed. The gas may consist of halogen and sulphur compounds such as sulphur dioxide or hexafluoride, and carbon bisulphide. Specification 399,502 is referred to.</p> |
