发明名称 Improvements in clutch control mechanism
摘要
399,377. Dashpots. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION, 105, West Adams Street, Chicago, U.S.A. Feb. 9, 1933, Nos. 3996 and 3997. Convention date, Feb. 10, 1932. [Class 108 (iii).] The clutch of a motor vehicle is operated by an engine-suction servomotor 12, Fig. 1, one end 18 of which is adapted to be put alternatively into communication with the engine manifold 22 or with the atmosphere, for clutch disengagement or engagement respectively, under the control of a three-way valve 46, Figs. 2 and 3, while the efflux of air through a tube 74 from the other end 73 of the servo, which is provided with a non- return air inlet valve, is controlled by a bleed valve 48, Figs. 2 and 4, the valves 46, 48 being slidably arranged in a unitary casing 30 and being jointly connected to the accelerator 56 so as to be operated in unison therewith. On depression of the accelerator, producing clutch engagement, valve 48 moves to uncover one or more vent passages 70, adjustable by screws 72. The initial movement of the servo piston 10 is rapid, due to the efflux of air from the end 73 through an axial groove in the rod 14, but thereafter is controlled solely by the vents 70. In a modification, the three-way valve 46 is provided with a tapering longitudinal groove 158, Fig. 9, which functions in a similar manner to control the bleed, a separate bleed valve being dispensed with.
