Disclosed are a packet loss rate detection method and apparatus. The method comprises: a first node sends a preset quantity of detection packets to a second node, wherein when receiving the detection packets, the second node returns the detection packets to the first node, and calculates a first packet loss rate of a unidirectional link from the first node to the second node on the basis of a third quantity value of detection packets received by the second node and a first quantity value carried in the detection packets, the first quantity value being used for representing the preset quantity of the detection packets sent by the first node; when no detection packet returned by the second node is received within a first preset time period, the first node acquires a second quantity value of detection packets received by the first node, and calculates a second packet loss rate of a loopback link between the first node and the second node on the basis of the first quantity value and the second quantity value; and when receiving the first packet loss rate sent by the second node, the first node uses the difference between the second packet loss rate and the first packet loss rate as a third packet loss rate of a unidirectional link from the second node to the first node. |
