Provided are: a portable display device that can be manufactured at low cost and is capable of satisfactorily serving as both a display device and a mirror; and a half-mirror film that allows for easy construction of the portable display device. The portable display device includes an image display layer and a circularly-polarized-light separating layer located closer to the viewing side than the image display layer. The circularly-polarized-light separating layer has a reflectance of 40% or more in at least one wavelength in the visible spectrum. The half-mirror film includes the circularly-polarized-light separating layer. |
