[Class 64 (iii).] A tubular heat-exchanger comprises a casing having ports 5 .. 8 for the supply and discharge of the fluids between which heat is to be exchanged and a group of tubes secured to endplates 2 and adapted to be removed bodily from either end of the casing without interfering with the joints between the ports and the fluid supply pipes. A fluid-tight joint between the casing and the tubeplates may be maintained by soft packing and a sleeve-like gland 13 held in position by a cover 17. Longitudinal and transverse baffles are provided in the casing to direct the flow of the fluids. |
