摘要 Disclosed are the methods and systems for enabling interworking between RCS and non RCS networks in a completely seamless and transparent manner in which there will be no need to update or develop a new RCS end device or a client software and still achieving the interworking with non RCS networks only by network specific deployments and configurations. Proposed systems and methods shall extend all the RCS services to the non RCS contacts of the RCS users (subject to subscription to particular non RCS network that offers RCS kind of services) retaining the end client devices or end client applications used both by the RCS user and non RCS user.

A system for enabling interworking between a RCS and a NON-RCS network subscriber comprising: an interworking gateway (IWG) integrated with an operator's OSS and BSS systems through a standards or proprietary interfaces, further deployed in an IMS network as an application server and comprising: a subscription module storing a list of Non-RCS networks available for interworking and configured to enable the RCS subscriber to select and subscribe to the Non-RCS network from the stored list;a provisioning module configured to receive triggers from the subscription module , and provision the RCS and NON-RCS networks to facilitate the usage of the services after subscription;peer to peer interworking module and multiparty interworking module comprising the application server logic and integrated with the IMS core through the standards based ISC interface; andan event processing engine integrated with the peer-to-peer interworking gateway module and the multi-party interworking module comprising authentication and first time provisioning logic, an application server logic that integrates with an IMS core through the standards based ISC interface and are programmed to translate the sessions between RCS and non RCS networks, originating from either ends that enables the two way communication between the RCS and non RCS users.
