The present invention relates to a method for evaluation of an infrared ray blocking effect of cosmetics, comprising: measuring respective spectral reflectance before and after application of cosmetics to a skin or skin substitute using an NIR spectrophotometer; and then measuring a degree of increase in spectral reflectance after application of cosmetics, compared to the spectral reflectance before application of cosmetics. According to the present invention, it is possible to perform an objective comparison and analysis of infrared ray blocking products, and to derive a maximal infrared ray blocking ability of an infrared ray blocking product during the product development stage.
