This automobile carrying vessel is provided with: a vessel hull that includes an upper deck and a double bottom and that has formed therein an entrance for vehicles; a plurality of intermediate decks including an embarking deck and an above-entrance deck which are separated from each other with the entrance for vehicles interposed therebetween; and vertically arranged pillars that are interposed between the double bottom, the plurality of intermediate decks, and the upper deck. In a particular pillar passing cross section, none of the pillars are provided between the embarking deck and the above-entrance deck. The above-entrance deck is suspended, via the pillars, from a deck transverse supporting the upper deck. The deck transverse has such rigidity that, if vehicles are fully loaded on the above-entrance deck, bending of the above-entrance deck is not greater than a prescribed value.
