A guide mechanism (10) is provided with: a guide member (72) having a first groove (81); a slide member (74) having a second groove (82); and rolling bodies (76) arranged in a guide groove (98) comprising the first groove (81) and the second groove (82). A stopper (100) for preventing the rolling bodies (76) from moving out of the guide groove (98) is affixed to the second groove (82) by welding. A method for manufacturing the guide mechanism (10) includes a welding step in which the second groove (82) and the stopper (100) are welded by resistance welding while the stopper (100) is pressed against the second groove (82).

1. A guide mechanism (10, 110) comprising:
a guide member (72, 172) having a linear first groove (81, 181) therein; a slide member (74, 174) configured to slide linearly with respect to the guide member (72, 172), and having a linear second groove (82, 182) therein disposed so as to be face-to-face with the first groove (81, 181); and a plurality of rolling bodies (76, 176) disposed in a guide groove (98, 198) that is constituted by the first groove (81, 181) and the second groove (82, 182); wherein a stopper (100, 200, 202) configured to prevent disengagement of the rolling bodies (76, 176) from the guide groove (98, 198) is fixed by welding in the first groove (81, 181) or the second groove (82, 182).
