PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a boiler by preventing corrosion of a furnace wall.SOLUTION: A boiler includes: a furnace 11 formed into a hollow shape and installed along a vertical direction; combustion burners 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 capable of forming flame swirl flows by blowing pulverized fuel-air mixture into the furnace 11; an additional air nozzle 52 blowing additional air into the furnace 11 upward of the combustion burners 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25; and a protective gas nozzle 62 blowing air (protective gas) horizontally along an inner wall surface of the furnace 11 between the combustion burners 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 and the additional nozzle 52. |
