PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shredder which has one cast slot and one shredding part, can shred sheets of paper and recording media by casting them into a single cast slot, attain improvement of shredding efficiency and compactification of the device, discriminate shredding matters according to an open/closed state of a cover, and improves safety to scattering of recording media during shredding of the recording media.SOLUTION: A shredder has a housing 12 having a waste box inside, a single cast slot 14 formed in the top of the housing and through which shredding object matters of sheets of paper or recording media can be cast, a recording matter shredding cover 18 with a recording medium insertion port 16 formed in the top, and provided so as to cover the single cast slot and provided so as to be able to open and close, a display lamp 20 formed in the top of the housing to display whether the sheets of paper or recording media can be shredded, and a single shredding part provided in the housing to be equipped with a shredding blade for shredding the shredding object matters cast from the single cast slot. |
