A single phase permanent magnet motor (10) and a method for making the same are provided. The method includes the steps of: configuring a stator core (30), wherein the stator core (30) comprises a first ring portion (31), tooth bodies (33), and a pole shoe (35) extending from each tooth body (33), a slot opening (37) is defined between each two adjacent pole shoes (35), at least one pole shoe (35) includes a main portion (35a), a connecting portion (35b) and an easily bendable tip (35c), the easily bendable tip (35c) is bent relative to the main portion (35a) about the connecting portion (35b); winding a stator winding (39) around the stator core (30); and bending the easily bendable tip (35c) about the connecting portion (35b) to narrow the slot opening (37). The present invention can change the size of the slot opening (37), thus more rapidly finishing the winding of the stator winding (39) and enhancing the efficiency of the motor fabrication. |
