PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel loader which can properly set a traction force in a moment at which a packet is stuck into an object at excavation work according to a kind of the object and a road status, and its control method.SOLUTION: A level selection part is a device for selecting a traction force level when a speed stage of a transmission is in a first speed from a plurality of levels. A plurality of the levels include at least a first level and a second level. A control part controls an engine. When the speed stage of the transmission is in the first speed, and the first level is selected, the control part controls the engine on the basis of a first traction force characteristic. The first traction force characteristic regulates a relationship between a vehicle speed and a vehicle traction force. When the speed stage of the transmission is in the first speed, and the second level is selected, the control part controls the engine on the basis of a second traction force characteristic. In the second traction force characteristic, a traction force is reduced more than that of the first traction force characteristic.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
