PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and easily-handling cutter and a cutting method capable of cutting by lightweight and low force without scattering chips, and to also provide the cutter and the cutting method of a down gate, mountable on an industrial robot.SOLUTION: A cutting apparatus is composed of an electrode provided in a resistance heating apparatus having a pressurizing mechanism, and is provided with a joint part to the resistance heating apparatus, a cutting edge holder and a cutting edge provided in the cutting edge holder. The cutting apparatus is also composed of the electrode having a robot mount part connectable to the industrial robot, the pressurizing mechanism for adjusting pressurizing force to a cutting object and an electrode support arm, and installable in the resistance heating apparatus capable of heating a predetermined spot by current-carrying, that is, the electrode having the joint part to the resistance heating apparatus, a tip holder incorporated with a water-cooled pipe, the cutting edge holder provided on the tip of the tip holder and the cutting edge provided in the cutting edge holder. |
