A light and compact power generation device for a mobile body generates power based on a relative flow of an external fluid when a mobile body travel and is configured to easily produce a large electromotive force. Flat-plate shaped power generating units (32) are used, in each of which an elastically deformable base member (34) and piezoelectric films (36) are alternately laminated. When the flow of outside air (20) elastically deforms the base member (34) in the thickness direction, the piezoelectric films (36) are warped to generate power. Accordingly, a light and compact configuration is achieved. In addition, the multiple power generating units (32) are arranged to be spaced apart in a vehicle lateral direction, which intersects the flow direction of the outside air (20), and the flat surfaces of the flat-plate shapes are held by a holding member (30) to be approximately parallel with the flow direction of the outside air (20). As a result, increase in the traveling resistance of the vehicle is minimized and the power generating units (32) are densely arranged in close proximity to one another, thereby making it possible to easily ensure a large electromotive force. |
