PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface texture evaluation device configured to properly evaluate texture of a surface of an object by use of sensory evaluation of human beings.SOLUTION: A surface texture evaluation device 10 includes: a light-source display unit 4 which irradiates a surface 11a of an object 11 with light; a swing mechanism 5 holding the object 11 and swinging the object 11; a camera 6 which images the surface 11a of the object 11 irradiated with light by the light-source display unit 4 and swung by the swing mechanism 5; generating means 7a which performs image processing on an image captured for a predetermined time by the camera 6, to generate a luminance histogram temporal change pattern; and evaluation means 7b which compares the generated luminance histogram temporal change pattern with a reference luminance histogram temporal change pattern generated in advance by use of a predetermined object, to evaluate texture of the surface 11a of the object 11. |
