The invention relates to novel compounds of formula (I) in which X, Y, Z, A, B, and G have the meanings indicated above, several methods and intermediate products for the production thereof, and the use thereof as pesticides and/or herbicides. The invention also relates to selective herbicides containing phenyl-substituted bicyclooctane-1,3-dione derivatives and a compound improving compatibility with cultivated plants. The invention further relates to a way to boost the effect of plant protection agents containing especially phenyl-substituted bicyclooctane-1,3-dione derivatives by adding ammonia salts or phosphonium salts and, optionally, penetration enhancers, the corresponding agents, methods for the production thereof, and the use thereof as insecticides and/or acaricides and/or for preventing weeds from growing in order to protect plants.
