PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system capable of compensating signal quality deterioration in optical transmission without excessively enlarging a transmission/reception device scale, by using optical compensation and digital signal processing together.SOLUTION: The optical transmission system includes an optical dispersion compensation function unit for performing optical dispersion compensation on a span-by-span basis. There is performed one or both of the compensation of phase rotation, using waveform information in the middle of propagation producing maximum peak power, and the compensation of phase rotation by mutual phase modulation based on adjacent channel intensity. |
