PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for performing dispersion compensation with an appropriate dispersion compensation amount according to the occurrence state of line disconnection, in an optical transmission system including a redundant wireless line as a backup for occurrence of line disconnection in an optical line.SOLUTION: An optical transmission system includes optical/wireless node pairs 104-1 through 104-n comprising upstream side nodes and downstream side nodes, in the way of an optical transmission line between an optical transmitter 100 and an optical receiver 102. Upon occurrence of line disconnection in optical fibers 106-1 through 106-n between both nodes, each optical/wireless node switches the connection line between both nodes to a wireless line which is from an optical line. The optical receiver 102 measures RTT of test light by transmitting the test light to the upstream side via the optical transmission line, and receiving the test light reflected at the optical transmitter 100 or the downstream side node of any of optical/wireless node pairs, and performs wavelength dispersion compensation for an optical signal received from the optical transmitter 100, with a compensation amount according to the measured RTT. |
