PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one turn actuated duration spray pump mechanism in which a cylinder is fixed to a cylinder retainer closure adapted to be attached to a container.SOLUTION: In use, a cylinder 30 extends into a container and a splined shaft 70 extends coaxially into the cylinder from a rotatable actuating collar 50 connected to a cylinder retainer closure 21. At least one piston 80 is mounted for axial movement on the shaft in sealed sliding relationship with the shaft and the cylinder. An inter-engaged structure between the piston and the cylinder causes the piston to move axially within the cylinder to draw a product into the cylinder and store energy in an energy storage device when the actuating collar 50 and the shaft 70 are rotated. The stored energy moves the piston to exert pressure on the product in the cylinder and dispense the pressure when a discharge valve is opened.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
