The invention relates to a method for assisting a driver of a motor vehicle (1) during a driving manoeuvre, in which the surroundings are sensed and a three-dimensional model is produced from the acquired data relating to the surroundings, a driving manoeuvre which the driver of the motor vehicle (1) is expected to carry out is predicted and a warning is issued to the driver of the motor vehicle (1) if the predicted driving manoeuvre exceeds system limits of a driver assistance system which is used to assist the driver or if sufficient sensing of the surroundings is not possible within the area of the predicted driving manoeuvre. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for carrying out the method. |
