PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately grasp a target when estimating an arrival direction by an adaptive beam forming method.SOLUTION: A transducer 30A for transmission includes: ultrasonic vibrators 31, 31arranged at an interval. A transmitter outputs a transmission signal so that a pulse wave P2 transmitted by the ultrasonic vibrator 31is delayed behind a pulse wave P1 transmitted from the ultrasonic vibrator 31and the pulse wave P2 is transmitted following the pulse wave P1. An ultrasonic vibrator of a transducer for reception is so arranged as to receive a first reflected wave generated with the pulse wave P1 and a second reflected wave generated with the pulse wave P2. An arrival direction estimation device of a receiver performs an operation associated with an incoming wave by applying an adaptive beam forming method to a composite echo signal obtained from a composite reflected wave of the first reflected wave and second reflected wave received successively by the transducer for reception. |
