A wireless communication device (100) configured for wireless communications, comprising: a memory (110) configured to store executable instructions; a processor (102) coupled to the memory and configured to execute the executable instructions to provide processing and communications operations for the wireless communication device; a radio transceiver (124) coupled to the processor and configured to provide at least one of voice and data communications to the wireless communication device; at least one antenna (126) configured to transmit and receive electrical signals for the at least one of voice and data communications of the radio transceiver; a digital camera (202) coupled to the processor and having a lens component (204) and a lens position component (206); a display (114) coupled to the digital camera, the display operative to reproduce an image from the digital camera with a first focal point; a focal point selection module (232) coupled to the display, the focal point selection module responsive to user input to select a desired second focal point for the image; the display operative to send coordinates for the desired second focal point to the focal point selection module, responsive to user input; and a focus control module (234) coupled to the focal point selection module and the lens position component, the focus control module operative to provide focus control signals representing a focal length for the lens component so as to allow the lens position component to zoom the lens component on the desired second focal point, wherein the focus control module is operative to determine the focal length for the lens component based on the coordinates for the desired second focal point. |
