A pump health monitoring system for an aircraft fuel pump. The health monitoring system compares 47 environmental data to a reference environment and captures 32 pump data when the environmental data matches the reference environment. The pump data captured is therefore normalised 33 to the reference environment. A pump remaining useful life 59 is calculated from the normalised pump data. The environmental data may be temperature, density, pressure, volume or head of fuel in the fuel tank, flow rate of fuel through the fuel pump, aircraft attitude, aircraft acceleration or fuel pump acceleration. Also claimed is an aircraft fuel system including the pump health monitoring system, an aircraft including the fuel system and a method of monitoring the health of a fuel pump. |
