PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surrounding monitoring device for a work machine, which can improve a recognition capability to recognize an object approaching to the work machine itself.SOLUTION: A reference image storage unit 55 stores images without vehicles around an own vehicle as reference images, which are input by an image input unit 54. An own vehicle detection unit 51 detects a work machine itself (own vehicle) among images stored in the reference image storage unit and detects boundaries between the own vehicle and other regions. A region-to-be-processed setting unit 57 sets regions to be processed by using the boundaries detected by the own vehicle detection unit. The own vehicle detection unit 51 has a background separation unit 52 for determining the boundaries that separate the own vehicle region from the other regions as background regions and a boundary setting unit 53 for setting the boundaries determined by the background separation unit. The background separation unit 52 can correct boundary locations. |
