PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous dispersion for forming a dye reception layer which provides a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet excellent in all of dyeability, shelf stability under high temperature and high humidity, and releasability, and to provide a method for producing the aqueous dispersion for forming a dye reception layer.SOLUTION: Provided is an aqueous dispersion for forming a dye reception layer, which serves as a formation material of a dye reception layer possessed by a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet. The aqueous dispersion is formed by blending resin particles (A) having a volume median particle diameter (D) of 0.070 to 0.400 μm and resin particles (B) having a volume median particle diameter (D) of 0.010 to 0.050 μm in a mass ratio, [(A)/(B)], of 55/45 to 97/3. A resin (A) which constitutes the resin particles (A) contains at least one resin selected from a polyester-based resin, a vinyl chloride-based resin, and a vinyl acetate-based resin. A resin (B) which constitutes the resin particles (B) has a glass transition temperature of 45 to 85°C. |
