The light has a carrier unit (2) at which a heat generating operational unit and/or an illuminant (4) of the light are arranged, and a light-guiding element (6) made of plastic e.g.polycarbonate. The carrier unit and the light-guiding element are joined together within a connecting area (8). The connecting area limits heat flow between the carrier unit and the light-guiding element in such a manner that the light-guiding element adopts temperature distribution outside of the connecting area during the operation of the light.
