Provided is a process for producing activated cellulose powder comprising alkaline cellulose treatment, characterized in that before milling cottonous cellulose mass is treated with 5.0-10.0% aqueous solution of sodium carbonate for 6-70 min with molar ratio of reagents water:sodium carbonate:cellulose equal to 20.1-21.1:0.1888-0.3585:0.0154-0.0185 respectively, with further filtration and drying at a temperature of 100-105°C within 90 min and milling for 6-10 min. The provided process can be used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and other branches of industry.
