The invention relates to a sonotrode for an ultrasonic surgical instrument, having a shaft (19) and an instrument head (17) at a distal end (21) of the shaft (19). The instrument head (17) is equipped with a cutting structure (18) for machining bone. The shaft (19) has a helical recess (22). According to the invention, the helical recess (22) is provided with a transversely running shoulder (26). The invention also relates to a process for producing such a sonotrode and to a surgical instrument having such a sonotrode. The shoulder in the helical recess (22) reinforces the torsional vibration of the instrument head (17), such that the bone material can be removed particularly effectively. |
