The invention relates to a set of transport and transfer A-type containers and to some related devices needed for the transfer operation, intended for the transport and replacement of the source-holder PS-WT-Se containing the closed source of Se-75, from the irradiating A-type container, as a component of ROBOSCAN installation, without its shutting-down for a significant period of time. According to the invention, the set consists of two A-type containers, each of them comprising a casing (3) provided with handles, at the ends of which some protection limiting caps (1 and 2) are screwed in; inside it has a wolfram protection block (6) provided with a central rectilinear channel wherein there is a source holder (4) of the PS-WT-Se type, which contains a closed source (5) of radiation, i.e. Se-75 with Amax=2.41 TBq, and also a coupling and centering device, a flexible cable, a transfer rod and some related devices needed for the transfer operation; the casings (3) and the caps (1 and 2) are made of stainless steel and, at one end, the casing (3) has mounted, under the protection limiting cap (2), an obturator (8) and a rod (7) for actuation thereof, which are made of wolfram and stainless steel, respectively; the source holder (4) of the PS-WT-Se type is made of wolfram and stainless steel components assembled by screwing, the set of containers ensuring the transport of the closed source (5) of radiation Se-75 located inside the source holder (4) of the PS-WT-Se type and also of the source-holders charged with radioactive wastes resulting after use, T=120 days, according to the European rules in force, to/from the unit that performs the charging with radioactive material, by attaching, to the irradiating A-type container of the ROBOSCAN installation, the coupling and centering device wherein the empty container and the container with the source-holder charged inside are respectively introduced. |
