1. An image forming apparatus, comprising:
a detecting unit configured to detect an original which has been placed on a document feeder; a reading unit configured to read an image of the original detected by the detecting unit; a printing unit configured to print the image read by the reading unit on a sheet; a setting unit configured to set, based on a user instruction, whether or not to automatically enable a shift function for shifting the sheet on which the image is printed by the printing unit in response to detection of the original by the detecting unit; and a controller configured to automatically enable, in a case where automatically enabling the shift function is set by the setting unit, the shift function in response to detection of the original by the detecting unit, and to determine a discharge destination to which the sheet is discharged, wherein the controller is configured not to automatically enable, in a case where automatically enabling the shift function is not set by the setting unit, the shift function in response to detection of the original by the detecting unit, and is configured to determine, in a case where automatically enabling the shift function is set by the setting unit, the discharge destination from among discharge destinations where the sheet can be shifted, and wherein the controller determines the discharge destination to which the sheet is discharged further based on a priority order of the discharge destinations. |
