The invention is related to powder metallurgy, in particular, to devices for powder pressing and sintering by passage of electric current. The device comprises a mould with a coated inner surface, current leads mounted immovably on both sides of the mould and connected to an electric current source, stepped punches movable along the axis of the mould inner surface under action of a loading force, bushings of a heat-insulating material for alignment of the punches in the mould freely conjugated with the inner surface of the coating and with side surfaces of the punches, heat-insulating gaskets mounted between the end surfaces of the punches and the powder, wherein current leads form conjugations with end surfaces of the mould, coating and side surfaces of the punches; elastic elements deformable in the direction of the mould opening axis are mounted on end surfaces of current leads coaxially with the punches, where the length of total movement of the punches under action of the loading force must not exceed the maximum possible total deformation of elastic elements. Use of the invention provides the possibility of electric-pulse pressing of both conductive and dielectric powders, increase in durability and improvement of quality of pressed powders produced, and lower power consumption. |
