In this method for separating, moving, and detecting cells, a vesicular lipid membrane structure that contains a membrane-fusogenic lipid that can be fused with a cell having a lipid bilayer membrane, or a lipid membrane structure immobilization carrier, in which a lipid membrane structure that contains a membrane-fusogenic lipid that can be fused with a cell having a lipid bilayer membrane is immobilized on a carrier, is brought into contact with a sample including the cell, and the lipid membrane structure and the cell are membrane-fused.
