An information prompting method for use when monitoring the state of a door lock, comprising the following steps: monitoring the opening conditions of a door lock, and recording the last opening time of the door lock (S101); detecting whether the interval between the last opening time of the door lock and the current time exceeds a specific threshold (S102); if not, then maintaining the state (S103); and if so, then sending an alert and patent information to a specified terminal (S104). A monitoring system is also disclosed. |
