The invention relates to long-range cruise missiles. A cruise missile-armed ground effect vehicle consists of a body, lifting wings, aerodynamic flight control elements, a cruise engine, antennae for looking, locating a target and aiming, an altimeter and a payload. The body and lifting wings are configured in the form of a flying wing with a large area and an average aerofoil chord length, enabling flight with or without the use of ground effect. The flying wing-type body folds concertina-wise, to a variable extent, along the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the missile. A cruise engine is capable of functioning adjustably in the subsonic and supersonic ranges and is disposed inside a hinge of the folding segments of the body. The winged missile has more than one cruise engine, wherein the engines operate in the same mode or are adapted for different speed ranges, with a partial overlap therebetween, such that, upon command, the engines operate simultaneously in the overlap range or individually in their respective ranges and the operation of the engines can be alternated repeatedly. At least one cruise engine can be detached from the winged missile. The invention provides an extended flight range, enhanced destructive potential and increased compactness for storage and transportation. |
