A chemical heat storage device which is equipped with a storage vessel for storing NH3 and a reaction vessel including a particulate reactant that generates heat upon chemical reaction with NH3 and that releases NH3 upon heating, and in which a plurality of inclusion particles having a smaller particle diameter than the reactant particles are present among the reactant particles. The inclusion particles are inert to the reactant and NH3 during the regeneration reaction whereby NH3 is released from the reactant, and have a melting point higher than the temperature of the reactant which is undergoiong the regeneration reaction.
