A method and device for generating a payment token. The method comprises: a first server receives a tokenization request sent by a second server, the tokenization request carrying a first payment account number (201); the first server sends a payment token application request message to a third server according to the first payment account number, the payment token application request message being used for instructing the third server to map a second payment account number into a payment token of the first payment account number, the payment token being used for mapping the payment token into the first payment account number when payment transaction is performed by means of the payment token, and the second payment account number being generated by the third server according to the first payment account number (202); and the first server receives a payment token response message sent by the third server, determines, according to the payment token response message, the payment token mapped from the first payment account number, and sends the payment token mapped from the first payment account number to the second server (203). |
