In order to improve the usability and editing efficiency of moving image data editing based on additional information, first, additional information added to correspond to a time axis of moving image data is recognized. Then, an editing range of the moving image data is set according to whether the additional information is first additional information indicating a specified time point in a time axis of a moving image or second additional information indicating a specified time range in the time axis of the moving image. In other words, a portion that becomes an editing range is set according to additional data.
