摘要 Th invention relates to a method that is comparatively low-cost to carry out and particularly flexible to implement, for determining at least one characteristic variable for an electrical resistance between rails (11, 12) of a railway track (10) if there is an axle shunt. For this purpose, according to the invention, the method is carried out as follows: a measuring point (L) that is free from insulated joints is used; an electrical alternating voltage with a frequency of greater than 1kHz is fed into the rails (11, 12) in the region of the measuring point (L); at least one measured value (U), depending on the electrical resistance between the rails (11, 12) of the railway track (10), is detected during a passing by of a railway vehicle at the measuring point (L); and based on the at least one detected measured value (U), the at least one characteristic variable is determined for the electrical resistance between the rails (11, 12) of the railway track (10) if there is an axle shunt. The invention also relates to a device (25) for determining at least one characteristic variable for an electrical resistance between rails (11, 12) of a railway track (10) if there is an axle shunt.
