The invention relates to a method for producing a magnet-wood composite material, wherein a binder mixture comprising a magnetic material is applied as a layer to a base layer of wood or wood constituents, wherein, after the applied binder mixture has been hardened and cross-linked, said layer is permanently joined to the base layer of wood or wood constituents, whereby the magnet-wood composite material displays a planar magnetic effect on at least one of the cover surfaces, wherein, before the magnetic material is mixed with the binder, the magnetic material is silanized and then dried in order to form a magnetic material cake and then the silanized magnetic material cake is subjected to fractionated screening, whereby magnetic material that is free of clumps and that does not clump again is obtained.
