A temperature measurement system 1 comprises a current source 2; a first multiplexer M1 having an input channel 5, connected to the current source 2, and a plurality of output channels 6a-d; a second multiplexer M2 having an output channel 8, connected to a processor 3, and a plurality of input channels 7a-d; and a plurality of temperature sensors T1, T2. Each temperature sensor is connected to an output channel of the first multiplexer and to an input channel of the second multiplexer so that a voltage across the sensor can be monitored by the processor. The system further comprises two fixed value resistors R1, R2. Each fixed value resistor is connected to an output channel of the first multiplexer and to an input channel of the second multiplexer so that a voltage cross the fixed value resistor can be measured by the processor. The processor may be configured to confirm that expected values are being read for the two fixed value resistors. The temperature measurement system may be used within a battery management system. |
