The invention relates to a method using at least one loudspeaker enclosure (10) comprising: at least one module (26) for generating a value representative of the internal operation of the loudspeaker enclosure (10); and a memory unit for storing an alarm criterion (37) relative to the generated value, and control software (38) for controlling the loudspeaker enclosure. The method comprises the following steps: the module produces a value representative of the internal operation of the loudspeaker enclosure; the loudspeaker enclosure compares the generated value and the alarm criterion; and the loudspeaker enclosure emits a sound or a visual signal if the result of the comparison reveals that the generated value fulfills the alarm criterion.
